I finished school many years ago. What are my options?
Getting into college some (or many) years after the HS is not that much different from conventional "right after HS" path. The only difference is that you need to evaluate your prior learnings and credentials. If you’ve previously taken college courses, gather your transcripts and see if you can transfer any credits. Some schools also evaluate prior learning or professional experience for credit. At minimum, your HS diploma (or an alternative, see the question bellow) should be ready. The rest is the same: 1. decide what you want to do and study. 2. find schools with the program of your interest, learn about their requirements, apply. 3. consider the school's financial aid and remember, FASFA may be also available to you! If you’re still uncertain where to start, many schools have admissions counselors who can help you navigate the process. Going for a degree as an adult looks daunting and can be challenging but it is also incredibly rewarding! Stay motivated and seek support from you family and friends or your school.
